Maths Tutoring Website Launched

A friend of mine is a mathematics tutor and I offered to help her pick up a few new students. So I just whipped up a little one-page website for her. I like doing this simple stuff because it makes a big difference over having no website at all and it doesn't cost me too much effort. Something I can cram in to my busy schedule.

She lives in Crookston, Glasgow, and tutors there, mainly from home, so we just used those keywords in the domain. Choosing domain names is always tricky, something focused is good (in this case Maths Tutor Crookston are clearly the key words) but sometimes you want to open up the possibility for the teaching business to expand, perhaps a larger tutoring service in Glasgow or further. Putting a Crookston in the domain is very limiting in a way. But in this case she was pretty sure that she wants to keep her maths tutoring fairly local, small and personal. If any business aspirations ever grow out of it, we can cross that bridge when we come to it.

In this case the co.uk domain was a no-brainer. You want a clear visible indicator to the user that you're local to the UK.

Click the link above to visit the website. I look forward to seeing her pick up a few students through it.
